MARUYA CYCLES
Maruya Cycles is a boutique Japanese bicycle workshop based in Aoba-ku, Yokohama. Founded in 2015 by Takashi Iijima, the brand revives the legacy of the Maruya Kimono shop, which operated in Mito during the Edo period before closing in 1945. Maruya crafts handmade steel frames that blend traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern performance, drawing inspiration from cultural motifs and artisanal techniques.
Each frame is built by skilled NJS-certified craftsmen using tubing from Kaisei and Columbus, ensuring precision and ride quality. Maruya’s models, such as the TAKERU and DAIKOKU, feature finishes inspired by traditional Japanese lacquerware (urushi) and gold leaf detailing.
