Founded by Pietro Dal Molin in Bassano del Grappa, the brand’s name is an acronym for “Viva l’Italia Liberata e Redenta” (Long live Italy, liberated and redeemed), reflecting a patriotic sentiment during a time when the city of Trieste was not yet part of Italy. In 1945, the company officially adopted the name Wilier Triestina, symbolising its support for the reunification of Italy.
